Healthy Luxury Sleep
Many people believe that sleep is a waste of time. They have a busy life with work and families to try to squeeze every minute of every day.
Finally submitted to sleep when I’m completely exhausted. The problem is not recognized is that when sleep deprived, you are forcing your entire body to effort at a disadvantage. An exhausted body can not work to their full potential, mentally or physically.
Sleep studies worldwide have shown that lack of sleep affects their physical, mental and emotional. A study by the University of Michigan have shown that sleep deprivation can cause a variety of health troubles such as heart problems, depression and monitoring of important tasks such as driving. One more sleep test submited by the magazine “Science News” reported that 48 volunteers have been deprived of sleep for two weeks, a reduction in mental capacity. This included surveillance, response time and memory.
Sleep is the natural way to allow our bodies to rejuvenate. There are 2 phases of sleep as we known. Rapid Eye Movement(REM) and another is non – REM sleep. During REM sleep the body is likely to feel a complete muscle rest, this allows us to wake up feeling refreshed. REM sleep is also a time when our blood pressure and heart rate lower, and when our brain secretes a hormone called cortisol. Without cortisol our bodies do not have sufficient means to combat cardiovascular disease. This REM sleep even when the circulatory system is based, and this helps to prevent cardiovascular disease.
The dream is also the time at which our bodies fight free radicals, and metabolize. Free radicals are molecules that are said to increase the aging process and even cause cancer. Sleep deprivation is also linked to lack of production of white blood cells. We all know that we need to fight these infections.
Sleep can seriously have an effect on our appetite. Our brain interprets the lack of sleep and hunger. During sleep, our body releases a hormone called leptin. Leptin is the one that says our brains, which are full when you eat. When we are awake for long periods of time, our bodies are unable to produce leptin. This, in turn, makes us feel hungry and crave carbohydrates. Therefore, sleep deprivation can easily lead to other health problems, obesity.
Sleep deprivation is not just a problem here in the U.S. In Portugal, three in four people report that they sleep after midnight and still get up early and go to work. The Japanese seem to sleep elderly, about the report on the forty percent who receive six hours of sleep or less. In fact, a report on sleep deprivation in Japan reported that the tests that we have only 4 – 5 hours each night has not been successful in tests measuring memory, clear thinking and Attention Span. The Australians, get about nine hours of sleep each night. I think they have the good idea.
